COACHING

COACHING: PURPOSEFUL TIME TO THINK.

Who are you, and what do you want? How easy is it to answer that question?

Whether it's a quick solution focus session for an immediate challenge or a deeper dive into the things that appear to be holding you back, coaching time is precious, protected and personal to you.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT
COACHING FOR BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS?

Executive coaching takes a look at your challenge and will always take context, culture and your organisational systems into account.  It's person centric and about you, of course.  We look at matters at a systemic level too for really meaningful outcomes

There will be many options open to you, although you may not see them all yet, or think they are possible for the situation.  Let's remove the blinkers and find the best way forward.

Use tools and methods to create simple, achievable steps that lead to solid and meaningful actions.  Move forward with confidence, credibility and resilience.

LEADERSHIP COACHING - A CASE STUDY

Clara* is a senior HR manager for a large multinational.  She had only been in post for a few weeks and had inherited a messy, complex and longstanding employee challenge.

Being new, she was eager to make a good impression but was soon aware that the organisation had an evident liability for the case in hand.  The individual was neurodivergent, off sick with anxiety related stress, as a result of the situation, and the grievance he raised was about to be heard after nearly a year.

The stakes felt extremely high.  Emotionally, financially and reputationally for all parties.  As a result, Clara was anxious about her role in leading the process and advising the Directors hearing the case while supporting the employee. The day before the grievance hearing, she suffered a panic attack.

It was very short notice, but we had a lengthy phone call.  Clara is competent, intelligent and articulate.  She was also at the mercy of her own fight-flight reflex.  After some gentle chat and some light calming exercises, she could outline her worries.  Naturally, she had been running through every possible future scenario and none of them seemed to offer a win-win.

After some prompting to consider the more immediate goals, a reflection on previous cases where she'd worried and yet had proven herself capable and competent time and again, we devised methods to help her stay with the moment and not to jump ahead to events that had yet to happen.

She messaged me a couple of days after to thank me for getting her through.  The meeting was difficult, as expected but no-where near as bad as she'd expected.  She was acknowledged for her wise counsel and fairness in support by all parties and is leading the ongoing process one step at a time with a clear head.  Taking time to reflect with targeted exercises that negate dwelling and promote learning.

That's what coaching can do.  In a single phone call.  Think what a programme could do for you.
